Kansas Stampede

This mural was at the corner of Kansas & Lakin in Great Bend, Kansas. It was 15 feet tall and 45 feet long. It's creation was the result of The Great Bend Mural Project that was begun by Great Bend native Laura Donnelly. This was the second of I believe 17 murals created by this group. I was fortunate enough to have my mural design chosen for this project and became the lead artist. Unfortunately after 7 years of being in place and lots of poitive feedback from the public, a new owner of the building decided to cover the mural up with a synthtic plaster like material in order to give the building a "new" look. the irony is the new use of the building was for a art gallery featuring western, southwestern, and wildlife art. I say was because after approximately a year{best guess} the gallery is no longer in buisness. KARMA! It's a wonderful thing.
